Downham Pre-School has been registered with Ofsted for many years and is operated from the original Downham School building.  The trustees manage the Pre-School and also own the building itself.  The premises are situated on the main street of Downham, with a lockable gate, in a rural area within the Ribble Valley close to Clitheroe in Lancashire.   Its stunning setting, with open views towards Pendle, creates a warm and welcoming environment for children, parents and carers alike.  The setting consists of two playrooms with a large, secure outdoor play area.   

The setting provides sessional care for up to 24 children per session aged 2 - 5 years.  The Pre-School is open from Monday to Friday (term time only) with the session times structured as follows: 

Mornings      9.00am – 11.30am

Lunch           11.30am – 12.30pm

Afternoons    12.30pm – 3.00pm 

Children may attend for any amount or combination of the above session times subject to availability. We accept childcare vouchers from a variety of company’s i.e. Edenred.

There are six qualified staff working directly with the children.  All staff are mature, combining modern requirements with traditional values and lead by example.
